Seizure Control Treatment
Designed comprehensive health care provider and patient facing websites that educates visitors on adequate seizure control with the FDA approved treatment, ZTALMY.
Project Overview
CDKL5 deficiency disorder (CDD) is a serious and rare genetic disorder that is caused by a mutation of the CDKL5 gene which is located on the X chromosome and encodes proteins essential for normal brain function.
CDD predominantly affects females in a 4:1 ratio female to male and is characterized by early onset, difficult-to-control seizures, and severe neuro-developmental impairment. Many children diagnosed with CDD also experience scoliosis, visual impairment, sensory problems, gastrointestinal difficulties, and sleeping disorders.
ZTALMY (ganaxolone) for CDD was approved in March 2022 based on positive results of the Marigold trial that showed a statistically significant reduction in major motor seizures in a clinical study of 101 children and adults with CDD.
With market research indicating that ZTALMY is well suited for broad clinical adoption, Marinus pharmaceuticals was tasked with establishing ZTALMY as a credible and dependable treatment.

Exploration
I conducted a competitive analysis of different brands from direct competitors to luxury brands to observe the following components:
navigation
calls-to-action
complex functionality (ie. dosing calculator)
Sitemap & Wireframes
I worked closely with the copywriting team to develop the website content.
Deliverables included:
a sitemap outlining the website’s structure, navigation and page relationships
mid-fidelity wireframes to define layout, information architecture, user flow, and functionality
I worked closely with the art team to develop the branding elements to the site.
UI assets included:
color palette
typography
iconography
button design
UI Design
I worked closely with the web development team to establish the feasibility of implementing a dosing calculator on the healthcare provider site. We created a set of parameters for the calculator to work on the backend in order to develop a functional calculator which allows health care providers to accurate calculate a patient’s dosage based on weight and condition severity.
Complex Functionality
Final site
After the branding was applied to the wireframes at the end of the layout stage, I developed a functional specifications document for the web development team to program the website with clear guidelines and expectations outlined.
